Starting off, I would like to say that I think this is an incredible photograph. The composition is very good. Technique is great. Depth of field, color, contrast, clarity, focus, all great. The message of the image though, based on the title and description, is not as readily apparent to the viewer. People in the know of the situation of where this child is may pick up on the message a lot easier than I. Art does not always have to be literal to be accessible but I think it helps in some cases. A surgical mask along with the title, for instance, may have gotten the point over easier for me. But I may be an anomaly. Others may have gotten it right away. Extraordinary photo though. I like how his farmer's hat frames his body. For me, it looks somewhat baby Jesus halo-ish in nature. In turn, it makes him a sympathetic figure. Just my two cents.
